José David Cely
Electronics Engineer, and his professional career has primarily focused on academia. He had industry experience as a Project Engineer before starting to teach at several universities in Colombia, including Universidad Catolica de Colombia (2001-2006) and Universidad Pedagogica Nacional (2002-2004). He has been a faculty professor at Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas since 2006, where he has taught courses such as Wireless Networks, Microwaves, and Optical Communications. Currently leads the Faculty Laboratories Committee and heads the Basic Sciences and Electronics Laboratories, a role responsible for serving over 6,000 students, managing and planning budgets for the acquisition and maintenance of specialized equipment for teaching and research. He has received the Academic Excellence Recognition award several times.
He has served as a volunteer member of IEEE for over 29 years, holding elected and appointed positions at various levels within the MGA, Societies, Conferences, and Educational Activities.
