Sergio Armando Gutiérrez, Ph.D.

Assistant Professor and Researcher on GITA Lab at Universidad de Antioquia. Formerly, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the same research group. He holds the degrees of Bachelor in Engineering – Computer Science from Universidad de San Buenaventura, Medellín (2008), Master in Engineering – Computer Science (2011) and Ph.D. in Engineering – Computer Science (2018) both from Facultad de Minas at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Medellín.
He is a Senior Member of IEEE, affiliated with the Communications Society (ComSoc) and Computer Society. He currently serves as Chair of the Colombia ComSoc Chapter and Coordinator of Technical and Professional Activities at IEEE Colombia Section. He has participated in different IEEE/ComSoc events as speaker with talks and tutorials in topics such as Software Defined Networks, Programmable Data Planes and Applications of Artificial Intelligence to the management of different aspects of Computer Networks. He has also participated in diferente roles as Technical Program Committee Chair, Publicity Chair and General Co-Chair in IEEE/ComSoc conferences such as COLCOM, ANDESCON and LATINCOM. He has around 20 scientific publications in conferences and journals covering topics such as data center networks, cybersecurity, integration of software defined networks and programmable data planes in the security of smart grids, data analytics artificial intelligence applied to computer networks management, among others.
